Elliston to Port Lincoln
Elliston was a beautifully maintained town with excellent and eye catching murals, parks for children, (made attractive in a variety of ways) and a clean well organized caravan park. Most of these inland places are really like our own in WA...fishing hamlets and holiday get away places for regular users. We headed for port Lincoln by Nineish and Erie amazed at how poor the farmland is lots of rocks! Dry walling fences wee in abundance as well as abandoned farm houses and houses in little places like Mt Hope. and finally got here after viewing Cummings memorial....to Leo a trawler captain who lost his life at sea. Port Lincoln is much bigger than I remembered by 44 yrs is a long time to try and recall especially when the event was to meet future Cummings in laws at a difficult time of your life! If you want to visit the many restaurants to dine on seafood during your stay it is the plan to visit and for fishers of course. It is jam peaked with holiday makers and the caravan park is terraced so the vie is pretty good of the Boston and Porter Bays. A little similar view to that of Albany although I think Albany is better! ?.see last pic!Met some west Aussies from Collie and Port Kennedy and am looking forward to getting fresh fish soon!
